Big Wheels

Folks, we are BACK! And it is quite possibly our favorite time of year: Fall! Okay, maybe our favorite time is holiday. Or maybe Springtime. Okay, we can’t decide. But we are smack dab in the middle of Fall transition and we are LOVING it. We are starting to shake out our sweaters from the backs of our closets and they feel like the warm, familiar hug of a good friend you haven’t seen in awhile. It’s glorious. But let’s face it, 60 degree mornings turn into 85 degree afternoons and that makes wearing cable knits and wool sweaters out of the question. So, for now, don’t pack away your shirt dresses just yet! Just be sure to layer up and you’ll be able to change your look according to the weather. Florals are certainly not just a spring/summertime staple, they can be worn well into the wintery season. Consider a darker floral or this beautiful mustard shade. Add your favorite light duster or denim jacket and you’re prepared for whatever the weather may bring!

Swing, Swing

We love it when an outfit can be striking and also carry you through many different activities of the day seamlessly. This sweet, floral crop top from Sadie + Sage paired with these high-waisted shorts can effortlessly take you from brunch in the morning, to running errands during the afternoon – all with a little help of a shoe and outerwear change. This crocheted kimono from Echo is a lovely, subtle statement that adds a touch of romance to your look. Feel free to wear it open as a duster, or even tied around for a great swimsuit coverup. For your afternoon activities, we switched out the kimono for a great cropped moto-jacket and some trusty sneakers. And just like that, you’re ready to hit the ground running without compromising your look.

Chin Up

We hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July full of BBQs, fireworks, and those you love around you! Speaking of holidays, whether its before or after Labor Day – there’s no denying how fantastic a crisp white dress is for summer! We love this three-quarter inch sleeve, embroidered dress from Lazybones (and also obsessed over them in a previous post, if you’re curious!). Wearing white can be an excellent way to incorporate neutrals that maybe don’t get as much love during the colder seasons. White tshirts, white shorts, sneakers that used to be white as some point – its all good for this summer! It also creates a beautiful pallet for mixing with accessories and shoes that speak to your personal style. From patterns, to textures, to neons, a white style foundation can handle it all! Happy styling!

Post Up

We recognize that your news feed is being saturated with music festival outfits – but we would be doing summer a massive injustice without honoring this popular warm-weather activity. Whether you’re camping over a long weekend or just stopping by for the night, two things remains constant: comfort and trendy! This linen shift dress from Loveriche nails it! The pattern is eye catching without too many bells and whistles getting in the way of your free range of motion for grass-stomping and hula-hooping. While its easy to think that summer music fests are a bralette and high-waisted shorts only-zone: we absolutely beg to differ. Shift dresses are perfect because they’re cool in the hot weather and take no time to toss on with your favorite pair of sneakers or sandals. 100% would recommend.

Follow Suit

Have you ever seen an outfit and immediately Rihanna comes on in your mind singing, “where have you been all my li-li-li-life?!” Because this is it for us. This top + bottom set from Very J encompasses everything we are loving this summer: resort-wear, tropical patterns, two-piece set, bow detail. Its got it all! Sometimes rompers can be tough in the summer and doesn’t always work for every body type and proportions. A two-piece set is a great alternative with similar vibes. Not feeling the sneakers? This would pair perfectly with gladiator sandals, or slip on flats. We recommend keeping the shoes and accessories minimal so that this set can shine! So when you think to yourself, W.W.R.D (What Would Rihanna Do?), she would most definitely get her hands on this set.
