By Golly, By Timo

Let’s face it – there’s a lot of fashion rules. And I know we talk a lot here about how to push the envelope when those rules are holding you back from being your true authentic self. And this post is no different! There may not be a hashtag yet for the statement sock (or maybe there is? #statementsock where are ya?!) but we are certainly here for this subtle trend. It may seem like totally against the rules to pair sparkly socks with such a classic dress, but we say, “go for it!” This By Timo dress is a floral, ruffle, western, romance all rolled into one beautiful piece. Sometimes a piece that is so specific almost lends itself for even more rule-bending! Next time you’re out shopping, find something super literal and see if there are ways to bring it closer to your personal style. A Gingham dress with lace trim? Add a moto jacket and high top sneakers. A floor-length satin slip dress? Add a patterned long sleeve underneath or a neckerchief. In short, push that evenlope, friends! It’s fashion – nothing is off limits.

Seal the Deal

May has arrived! Summer is fast approaching, but we love getting to sit still and breathe in the Spring breeze just as much. Perfect for these transitional months are classic staples like this striped midi-dress from Monteau. Not only do we love the price point, but we love how effortlessly it can be incorporated into any style + look. This dress really is the perfect pallet for fine-tuning to your personal tastes. While these red Seychelles sandals add an element of drama and color to the look – we can totally see this with some great high top sneakers, classic black loafers, and anything in between.

Happy Valley Dress

For vintage-reproduction designer, Bernie Dexter, fashion is about celebrating the female form. Bernadette Belle Dexter started designing dresses when, as a devoted vintage wearer, she was dismayed to find that real vintage dresses couldn’t stand up to a night of rockabilly dancing. As she says on her site, “After years of buying vintage clothing… and constantly being heart broken because they would rip the first night out on the dance floor, I knew then that it was time to create my own reproduction line of clothing!”

Whether you wear it on the dance floor or just as a beautiful day dress, the Happy Valley dress, named after a spot in Bernie’s hometown of Portland, is girlie personified. Available online at the end of this week!
